Introduction
This tutorial will guide you through creating, editing, and customizing a links page.
Step-by-Step Tutorial: Creating and Customizing a Links Page
Step 1: Access the Links Page Template
- Locate the Template:
- If you’re new to the platform, you may already have a “Links Template” page available.
- Click “Edit” to begin customization.
- If You Don’t Have a Links Page (Optional):
- You can create a new page and locate the “Links Page” in the pattern library.
- Auto-Populated Top Section:
- The top section of the links page automatically pulls information from your settings.
- Ensure your settings are up to date for accurate auto-population.
- Clean Up the URL:
- Update the URL or Page Title to remove unnecessary elements (e.g., “links-template” to just “links”).
- This ensures a clean and professional link structure.
Step 2: Add and Edit Buttons
- Edit Button Text:
- Click on the button and change the text (e.g., “Join the Hub”).
- Select a Button to Edit:
- Click on a button to open the navigation options.
- Add External Links:
- Copy the desired URL (e.g., a Facebook group link).
- Click the link icon in the navigation bar, paste the URL, and click the submit arrow to save.
- On the links page, I recommend editing the link settings to “Open in a New Tab.”
- Add Internal Links:
- Click the link icon and type the name of an internal page (e.g., “Blog”).
- Select the page or a specific post from the dropdown.
- On the links page, I recommend editing the link settings to “Open in a New Tab.”
Step 3: Delete and Duplicate Buttons
- Delete Unwanted Buttons:
- Open the “List View” for easier control.
- Hover over a button to highlight it, then hit the delete key or use the three-dot menu to remove it.
- Duplicate Buttons:
- Select a button and use the duplicate option to create additional buttons.
- Rename and link each new button as needed.
Step 4: Customize Button Styles
- Open Settings Panel:
- Click the settings button next to the “Publish” or “Save” button.
- Adjust Button Size and Style:
- Change the size, text alignment, and add icons to the button.
- Explore the “Styles” tab to adjust the fill, text color, and background color.
- Customize Text:
- Modify the text size and font settings as desired.
- Experiment with Options:
- Test different styles to create a visually appealing and user-friendly design.
Step 5: Finalize and Save
- Review Your Page:
- Ensure all buttons are correctly labeled and linked.
- Test both external and internal links to confirm they work as intended.
- Save and Publish:
- Save your changes and publish the page when ready.
